Skateboard lessons at South Bank London with Trick Tech

Southbank Skatepark is widely recognised as the birthplace of British skateboarding and has been home to skateboarders and graffiti artists for the past 40 years. In 2014 the area was in danger of extinction due to re-development of the area. Southbank was saved though by the efforts of The Long Live Southbank campaign which won the right to keep Southbank for skateboarding.

The plaza style park features a variety of blocks, a 7 stair set and banks. There is enough room for beginners to learn the basics but the park can be extremely busy at times.

Southbank is a must for all skaters, it has no set opening times and is undercover which makes it a perfect spot all year round.

Skateboard lessons in Harrow London with Trick Tech

Harrow skatepark opened in July 1978, it has long flowing lines that link every obstacle in the park, It was one of the first bowl parks to be opened in the UK. It is a good skatepark for all levels of skateboarders. The surface isn?t as smooth as new skateparks but it does the job. There is lots of room for beginners and has a selection of pretty easy features to practice on.

Harrow skatepark features a 5 foot wooden mini ramp and 6 foot half pipe with a spine, bowl section made up of 4 parts, steep half pipe with two bowled ends, old school pool with tiles and roll in, slalom section, two blocks that lead into the eagle bowl and flat banks on either side.

This is a good skatepark for beginners or experienced skaters. It may seem a bit dated but there are very few parks that have lines and features like this one.

Skateboard lessons in Victoria Park London with Trick Tech

Victoria park skatepark was constructed in July 2011. Victoria Park skatepark is a good place for beginners to learn as there is plenty of room on the paths around Victoria Park to practice skating on. Beginners can then take these skills into the skatepark which has a small street section with small features to learn on. The skatepark features hips, pump bumps, banks, ledges and a bowled corner.

The skateparks main feature is a huge bowl section with some really nice lines and transitions ranging from 5-8 foot with some sharp hips, clean transitions and a foot of vert in places. It also features the only cradle in London.

Victoria Park skatepark is a good park in a lovely setting. The street section doesn?t have a huge amount of space so try to come at quite times as it can get crowded. The paths around Victoria Park are also fun for beginners to learn and practice on.
